6 Designers Who Changed the world

We all look up to someone or have people in our lives that inspire us so much it determines the whole course of our careers.

Here are six people who inspired us.

Massimo Vignelli

Massimo is best know for designing huge corporate logos like Ford, IBM and Bloomingdales. He brought forth a new era of typography that was the basis for apple computers design and the macintosh operating system. But what a lot of people don’t know about Massimo is that he also Designed the new york subway map and icons. He also designed furniture, Buildings, and clothes.

Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel needs no introduction. Her influence today is as strong as ever, as the company she founded remains one of the most coveted and respectable labels in the world. She created the little black dress that is now a staple for all women and a legacy. She created the scent Chanel no 5 which was credited as being the origin of the modern form of perfume, making it a fashion statement and a status symbol.

Alberto Pinto

Alberto Pinto left behind a legacy of interior design. Alberto could switch from modern space aged projects to decadent palaces for royalty. He designed more than just interiors, he designed entire hotels, jets, and yachts. He transformed the thought behind designers only working in one style or space.

Barbara Barry

In 1985 Barbara Barry formed her own company in Los Angeles, California and since then it has taken the design world by storm. Barry is mostly self-taught and is known for emulating the elegance and livability of the California style. Barry has collaborated on product designs with companies such as Baker Furniture, Kravet Fabrics, Ann Sacks Tile & Stone, and Bloomingdales with her bedding collection. Her clean and sophisticated designs are seen all over  California, but she works worldwide as well. Barry has also published several books that represent her beautiful taste and design ideas.

Zaha Hadid

Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid, DBE was an Iraqi-born British architect. She was the first Arab woman who received the Pritzker Architecture Prize, winning it in 2004. She received the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011. Hadid liberated architectural geometry with the creation of highly expressive, sweeping fluid forms of multiple perspective points that evoke the chaos and flux of modern life.

Jorn Utzon

Jørn Oberg Utzon, AC, Hon. FAIA was a Danish architect, most notable for designing the Sydney Opera House in Australia. He also designed The national Assembly building in Kuwait. He had a passion for home design, designing 4 iconic modern homes.
